Brendan Hannigan graduated from the University of Colorado with a B.A. in music, and has worked as a professional musician in a wide variety of venues and capacities since 2005. Among others, he has studied with jazz guitarist Alan Joseph, classical guitarist Dale Miller, jazz saxophonist Ricky Sweum, and David Zuercher, principal trumpeter for the Colorado Springs Philharmonic Orchestra. Upon graduation in 2014, he was awarded the Outstanding Music Student award by the music department faculty.
Brendan’s deep interest in music of all kinds has led him explore a diverse range of instruments, genres, and musical opportunities. He has performed in a wide variety of venues throughout the Front Range and Southern California as a jazz saxophonist; a lead guitarist in blues/rock bands; a classical/jazz guitarist for weddings, parties, and events; a trumpet player in jazz and symphonic contexts; and a solo singer/songwriter. In addition to his extensive experience in live performance, he has written, recorded, and produced original music that can be found on iTunes, Spotify, and YouTube.
Capable of teaching guitar, piano, voice, bass, trumpet, saxophone, music production, and audio engineering, Brendan enjoys helping students of all ages and ability levels take the next step in their musical journey. His teaching style has been described as “laid-back, patient, and kind.”
