close up guitar

Mark and I have been teaching guitar in Colorado Springs for a number of years. Selfishly we love being able to play guitar and share that passion with other people. It is actually amazing to be able to wake up, see the mountain view that only we get here in Colorado Springs and start my routine to get ready for work which includes grabbing music, my computer and best of all…my guitars. That’s right guitars. Plural. This is because when Mark and I are teaching guitar we are teaching a variety of guitar styles. Sure a lot of it translates across styles, but every guitar student is different. We make sure to take that into consideration every time we have a new guitar lesson. This is one of the most rewarding aspects for us. We get to spend time engaging our guitar students in every lesson playing what resonates with them. In some ways it reminds us of why we started playing and the magic of moving your fingers to  create sound and music. The most amazing aspect of teaching guitar is when the music breaks through and touches the students in a way that transforms them; it helps them to see something new in themselves and makes them a more confident and better person. It gives them something to share with the world outside and allows them to participate in the act of creating. That moment, when someone is transformed by the musical experience, that makes giving guitar lessons in Colorado Springs so exciting.
