As the name implies at Silversound Guitar, we teach guitar. But, what you may not know is we also teach drum lessons. In our studio we have a set up that is an ideal learning environment for drum students of any level. Incase you are wondering why you should check us out over the big box stores that offer drum lessons, I will give you 4 simple reasons to start learning drums at Silversound.
1) Friendly Atmosphere
Have a look around. Even just on our website you can see we are passionate about art and music. Beyond that, you can see that the environment is conducive to learning and creativity. You won’t be crammed into a tiny room with no sunlight, buzzing florescent lights and white washed walls. It’s a personal, warm, friendly, space where you can hang out, have a coffee (or soda) and jam.
2) We have a 1 on 1 approach
Each drum lesson at Silversound is tailored to the individual drum student. No one is exactly alike so we don’t use a 1-size-fits-all approach. We have two drum kits so that the students spends more time learning and playing and less time swapping in and out of the drum kit with the teacher. The drum student is able to learn the drum kit side by side and directly with the teacher while playing together. And while the fundamentals beginning drums may not change, we try to keep them fun (ha! See what I did there?).
3) Experienced Instruction
At Silversound we think about teaching differently. It’s not just imparting knowledge to students. It is about helping them through our own experiences. As we have all made mistakes in our learning processes at Silversound we are able to help our students not make those same mistakes. That’s why our drum instructors have not only previous teaching experience but also playing experience.
4) Local Connected
The biggest thing with music and is making connections. Some times that can be hard to do if you don’t play with other people much and then it can be hard to play with other people if you don’t already know other people to play with. It’s kind of a catch 22. However, at Silversound all of our teachers are connected to local music scenes. They perform, play jam sessions and are constantly meeting new people. They also have each other as a reference. If a guitar teacher at Silversound knows some one that needs a drummer, it’s just a walk across the hall.
